Dinner Tonight
Friday, March 5, 2010 at 7:40AM I am both excited and sad about the dinner I am going to tonight.
My good friend and fellow rap artist Cherise (aka Suga) and her amazing family are moving today and we are getting together to have a farewell dinner.

I met Cherise face to face at a meet up with her and Jaimie who both did not know that I was bringing along my buddy Scott to surprise them. We hit it off immediately and once again the diabetes common denominator brought 2 amazing people in my life and their families.
As much as I am sad to see my friend and her family go I am thankful that I can call her "friend" and the feeling of family I have with her is a blessing too.
So tonight we eat together as common residents of the State of Cal-EE-For-Nya (as Arnie would say it) one last time and I am already looking forward to the first trip her and her family make out this way.
You will be missed my dear friend.

I'm sad she's leaving you. But she's moving more this way, so maybe I'll get to meet her. :) And one day, I'll make a trip to Cali. It's not like I don't have family there.... LOL
While sad for my online D-bud G, I am a little selfishly excited - as your loss is my gain. Cherise and family are moving to Indy, which means I'll be blessed to have the opportunity to not only meet her and them but more regularly see them in the Hoosier-land. I do hope the dinner is a great one. Hope we all get the chance before long to sit down in person, whether it's for the first time or again after a hiatus. Diabetes: oh how you bring so many wonderful people into our lives.
Good byes are so tough . . . but I find it's better not to say them. Instead, make it "until we meet again". Which I know you are Cherise will. Enjoy your dinner tonight!!
Now why did you have to make me cry this morning?!? I'm going to miss you. Ok, I'm not going to get sappy. See you tonight. Btw, I tried stealing the pic of me on here but I can't:( your site must be set to "no picture stealing"
OK, I've got to say it. If you two weren't happily married to other people, you'd make the most adorable couple. There I said it.
While I am sorry that you're losing her, George, I'm excited that she's a little closer to me! Although, it's still a pretty long plane ride :-(
I hope that I'm able to catch up with both of you sometime (maybe a blogger's event or sumthin).
Enjoy your dinner and eat something truly bolus-worthy!!!
Talk about bittersweet. If I were there I would have THE BEST first 2/3 of the evening, and be a total mess the last 1/3. Sigh.
I still remember when we were in the parking lot, and this HUGE truck pulls up slowly. The window starts rolling down, and all of a sudden there is this excited scream from inside! Cherise was so surprised to see that you had a tag-along! I loved it.
Cherise is so much fun to hang out with, and that little princess of hers is icing on the cake. I can't wait to meet Scott.
Damn. I'm kind of sad after reading this. But, with the online connections we have now, it is a bit easier to stay connected. That'll help a little. Not quite enough, but, a little.
Oh! And I LOVE that top picture of Cherise. It is such a great picture of her. Makes me smile.
I hope dinner was filled with laughter and good times!
Goodbyes are hard, which is why I say so long~
